Huguette Tchiapi

Huguette Tchiapi (b.2000) is a fashion designer of Cameroonian descent currently based in London. Her practice is driven by a deep curiosity between clothing, identity, culture and community. Drawing from the Cameroonian philosophy of slow living, she proposes an effortless style influenced by precise British tailoring. Thoughtful research, sustainable natural fabrics and African textiles guide their approach to artisanal design. Balancing refined elegance with complexity and fluidity.

Seeing clothing as a direct mode of communication, their work goes beyond the fabric, engaging with themes of Black community, cultural nuance, and performance.

Graduating from Central Saint Martins, they currently work as a fashion designer, consultant and academic lecturer. Working to actively challenge and expand conversations of inclusivity in contemporary fashion.
